Mae ei gwaith yn cyfuno'n ddi-dor barch dwfn at hanes, technegau crefft traddodiadol, a chelf ddi-amser adrodd straeon. I Karina, mae'r broses greadigol yn ymwneud gymaint ag archwilio'r themâu a ddewisodd ag y mae'n ymwneud â'r weithred gyffyrddol o wneud. Mae castell Caernarfon yn strwythur unigryw, yn meddiannu lle rhwng Afon Menai ac Afon Seiont mewn tirwedd llanw symudol lle mae'r afonydd yn llifo i'r môr. Mae'r castell wedi gweld trais, meddiannaeth, cynnen a chythrwfl yn ei amser, gan smentio Caernarfon a'i phensaernïaeth o fewn hanes Cymru. Ar draws hanes, mae'r afon a'r môr wedi aros yn bresenoldeb cyson ond anwadal. Mae'r tymhorau sy'n newid yn barhaus, a llanw'r môr yn adlewyrchu ei thrigolion dros dro.

Caernarfon castle is a uniquely situated structure, occupying a space between the Menai Strait and Afon Seiont in a shifting tidal landscape where the rivers flow into the sea. The castle has seen violence, occupation, strife and upheaval in its time, cementing Caernarfon and its architecture within Welsh history. Across the annals of history, the river and the sea have remained a constant yet mutable presence. The ever changing seasons, tides of the sea mirror its transient inhabitants.
