Mae Edward yn artist a darlunydd sy'n gweithio'n bennaf mewn inc, ac mae ei waith yn archwilio chywedlau, straeon, a'r cymeriadau rydyn ni'n eu gosod ein hunain ynddynt. Mae wedi'i ysbrydoli gan syniadau seicoffantasi a seicoddaearyddiaeth, gan gwestiynu perthnasoedd dynol â llefydd a gofodau a sut rydyn ni'n eu chwedloni nhw a ni ein hunain.
Edward is an artist and illustrator working largely in ink, whose work explores myths, stories, and the characters we place ourselves into them as. He is inspired by ideas of psychofantasy and psychogeography, interrogating human relationships with places and spaces and the way in which we mythologise them and ourselves. His work has ranged from fantastical illustrations to more abstract reinterpretations, as well as endless practice in the form of tiny figures. Edward lives in the myth-country of Dyffryn Nantlle, where the landscape is constantly stirring his imagination.

Mae'r darn hwn yn edrych yn uniongyrchol ar fudo dynol i, o ac o amgylch yr ardal hon o Gymru trwy ddilyniant o ffigurau sy'n cynrychioli mudwyr hanesyddol, diwylliannol a llythrennol. Mae'r ffigurau hyn yn cynrychioli oesoedd o symudiadau, gan gyrraedd uchafbwynt yn y presennol, lle bydd ymwelwyr â'r arddangosfa yn cael eu denu i fod ochr yn ochr â nhw.
Mae'r ffigurau yn y gwaith wedi'u tynnu o bobl gyfoes sydd wedi byw a gweithio yn yr ardal, gweithiau ffuglen a ysgrifennwyd yma ac yn y rhanbarth ehangach, mudiadau hanesyddol heddychlon a gwaedlyd, mythau a chwedlau sydd wedi cael eu golchi i fyny yma gan lanw dynoliaeth ac eiconograffeg ar gyfer rhai o'r mewnforion ac allforion mwy o straeon sydd wedi dod i ben yma. Mae pwyntiau ffocal ar gyfer gwahanol fudiadau a safodd allan: mythau Arthuraidd, straeon sydd wedi teithio i ac o Gymru ac wedi cymysgu â diwylliannau ledled y byd yn eu hail-adroddiadau; Mithra, y mae ei chysegr gan y Llengoedd Rhufeinig ar dir Llanbeblig; Engedi, capel Caernarfon lle allforiwyd y Gymraeg allan i Batagonia; y Llengoedd eu hunain a'r diwylliant Rhufeinig a orfodwyd yma ac a ysbrydolodd straeon am ganrifoedd i ddod; y Llychlynwyr a deyrnasodd Ynys Môn am gyfnod ac a enwodd rannau o'r ardal; y twmpathau hynafol draw ar Ynys Mon a adeiladwyd gan ddiwylliannau hollol anhysbys i ni, ac yr oedd eu pobl wedi teithio eu hunain am oesoedd i gyrraedd y lle hwn. North Wales Passage
This piece looks directly at human migration to, from and around this area of Wales through a sequence of figures representing historical, cultural and literal migrants. These figures represent ages of movement, culminating in the present, where visitors to the exhibition will be drawn in alongside them.
The figures in the work are drawn from current people who’ve lived and worked in the area, works of fiction written here and in the wider region, historical movements both peaceful and bloody, myths and legends that have been washed up here by the tides of humanity and iconographies for some of the bigger imports and exports of stories that have ended up here. There are focal points for different movements that stuck out: Arthurian myths, stories that have travelled to and from Wales and intermingled with cultures all over the world in their retellings; Mithra, whose shrine by the Roman Legions is in the grounds of Llanbeblig; Engedi, the Caernarfon chapel where Welsh was exported out to Patagonia; the Legions themselves and the Roman culture that was imposed here and inspired stories for centuries to come; the Vikings who ruled Anglesey for a time and named swathes of the area; the ancient mounds over on Ynys Mon that were built by cultures quite unknown to us, and whose people had travelled themselves for lifetimes to reach this place. This work has been an opportunity for me to create a love letter to the rich history of an area I have migrated to, and the interplay of what people bring to it in return for what it gives back to those people.
